Roots, hills, logs, mud puddles, twists and turns, and maybe even some water crossings await you along the woodsy single-track route of the Outback Trails. Bug spray will be provided before and food, fruit, and snacks afterwards with camaraderie all around. So grab your trail shoes, tighten up those laces, and get ready to let out your inner child because it's time to explore the woods and race in the dirt! RACE DATE & TIME Date of Race - Sunday, May 19, 2024 Check-in / Race Day Registration opens - 8:00am (CDT) Race Start Times: 3K (ages 14 & Under) - 8:30 AM (CDT) 12K (all ages) - 9:00 AM (CDT) RACE LOCATION Outback Trail at Imagination Glen East Iron Horse Heritage Trail Portage, IN US 46386 WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE Official 2024 Trail Run Xtreme Shirt (Deadline for guaranteed size availability is May 3rd, 2024) Custom TRX Race Bib Top 3 in each age group will receive an TRX age group award. Overall Male and Female and Masters Male and Female will receive special podium awards OUR COURSE The course is 95% shaded and wooded, with the exception of the start which goes around the soccer fields to spread the runners out. It's known for being a tough course (hence "Xtreme"). It will also be well marked with flags, signs, tape, and plenty of volunteers along the route to point you down the right path. AWARDS There will be awards for Overall Male/Female and Masters Male/Female. YOUTH TRAIL RUNNING As part of an initiative to promote youth trail running, special age-based pricing for the 12K distance of TRX will be available for all runners 18 and under. Registration fees will remain at just $20 and include all the same benefits. BENEFICIARIES A portion of race proceeds benefit the organization below. Additional donations can be made during the registration process. Outback Trail Commission - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Outback Trail Commission and its members are voluntarily committed to the maintenance and construction of trails on the Outback Trail at Imagination Glen. Their volunteers prep and mark the course as well as provide the water stops and course marshalling on race day to keep everyone safe. TRX would not be possible without their support! FAQ Why is it not on Memorial Day? We thought we were going to switch it back to Memorial day after last year, but a lot of people seemed to like the change of date, so now we're keeping it this way. Hope that's cool with you! Can I run with a stroller? Absolutely not. Have you seen these trails? Are Dogs Allowed? We know there's some tough pooches out there, but dogs are not allowed out on course for this event. However, friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at the event staging area and other spectator spots. Valparaiso, Indiana (United States of America) - "Trail Golf Endurance Challenge". Get ready for a hole new adventure! Introducing the Trail Golf Endurance Challenge 50K/10M, a one-day 9-hole stage race where the lowest cumulative score wins! How does it work? At the top of each hour everyone will start the same route, or "Hole", of about 3-4 miles in length. Depending on the time window you finish in, you'll receive a stroke score ("Birdie", "Par", "Bogey", etc). 9 Holes in total for the 50k, 3 Holes for the 10-miler (see routes on website). Like in golf, the goal is to have the lowest score. The time windows have been calculated for each Hole and are based on the total distance covered and overall pace (see table on website). For example, if you run 10-12min/mile pace for each hole, you'll be hitting Par. For scoring, "Eagle" is always 2 strokes, "Birdie" gets you 3, "Par" is 4, and so on! Choose Your Challenge: Opt for the 50k and conquer all 9 Holes or go for the 10-mile option and take on holes 4 thru 6. Solo or Relay: Whether you're a lone trail warrior or prefer teamwork, you've got options for how you want to tackle this. Split up the holes with a couple buddies, or take 'em on alone - your strategy will play a key role on race day. 50K starts with Hole 1 at 9:00am, 10M starts with Hole 4 at 12:00pm.
